This social phobia in your article (Social Phobia or Social Anxiety Disorder) only categorise a narrow view. Let's not forget people who have been suddenly exposed for humiliation or public ridicule can trigger a social phobia especially if there are no existing support. Any phobia has its beginning which can be, if not treated, snowballed to extreme fear. You could even say that some social phobia has a post-traumatic-stress element to it. I really do not see it as an illness but as a consequence of unforseen powerless and helpless circumstances.

I have experienced humiliation and ridicule at its worse without any support by a powerful industry. From being a very extroverted individual I have become someone who dread being on the stage for all to see. I was an acting, singing and very confident person to someone who has become isolated and reclusive. I no longer trust people as I used to do. You could even say that this industry has created a lot of 'fans' my way.
