A new research literature review appearing in Medscape Psychiatry & Mental Health found that long-term use of stimulants was associated with some minimal height and weight deficits, onset of tics in a few subjects, and small but clinically insignificant changes in blood pressure and heart rate.
The review's aurhor, Thomas Spencer, MD, concluded that these symptoms should be monitored, but that most children will not experience them to a clinically significant degree. Read more in the Medscape article (free registration required):
