There are many different approached to psychology and mental health. A Freudian psychoanalyst will approach things very differently from a behaviorist who follows the theories for B. F. Skinner. Adlerians and Ericksonian psychotherapists will approach things differently from followers of Beck's cognitive therapy or Albert Ellis's Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).
