Exhibit 8: Goals for the Initial Treatment Session
- Get to know the patient.
- Provide an overview of and rationale for this treatment.
- Initiate the vouchers program, including the abstinence contract.
- Develop the problem list.
- Review the practical needs assessment.
- Provide an appointment book.
- Discuss the role of significant others in the treatment.
- Initiate disulfiram procedures, if needed.
- Make sure a urine sample has been collected.
- Schedule the next session.
