  • Get to know the patient.

  • Provide an overview of and rationale for this treatment.

  • Initiate the vouchers program, including the abstinence contract.

  • Develop the problem list.

  • Review the practical needs assessment.

  • Provide an appointment book.

  • Discuss the role of significant others in the treatment.

  • Initiate disulfiram procedures, if needed.

  • Make sure a urine sample has been collected.

  • Schedule the next session.
