Freedom from Fear (FFF) is a national non-profit mental health advocacy association whose mission is to aid and counsel individuals and their families who suffer from anxiety and depressive illnesses. FFF has developed an anxiety and depression screening program with a free consultation from a health care professional, which is available on-line through their web site. FFF also sponsors National Anxiety Disorders Screening Day, a free, anonymous, mental health screening program for the general public. Their web site also includes information on their programs, publications, support networks and educational fact sheets on anxiety disorders and depression.

NARSAD is an organization which was formed from four major citizens' groups (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, National Mental Health Association, National Depressive and Manic-Depressive Association and the Schizophrenia Research Foundation) in 1986. NARSAD raises and distributes funds for scientific research into the causes, cures and treatments, and prevention of severe mental illness, primarily schizophrenia and depression. Their web site includes information on their educational materials, mailing list, grants, and Infoline (a service that provides referrals, answers questions and sends free materials on psychiatric illnesses.)
