Buspar - buspirone

A non-benzodiazepine, buspirone (BuSpar),is often used for generalized anxiety disorders. This medication is chemically similar to some antidepressants, but it is used instead to treat anxiety. It does not have the dependence potential of some benzodiazepines.

Neurontin - gabapentin

Gabapentin (Neurontin) is a medication that has been primarily used to treat seizures. It has been found useful for treating some mood and anxiety disorders, as well as neuropathic pain.

Beta blockers

Beta-adrenergic blocking agents - such as propranolol (Inderal) - are used primarily for heart conditions such as high blood pressure. They are sometimes helpful for stage-fright or other anxiety conditions that include palpitations or rapid heart rate.
