New Evidence that SSRI Antidepressants May Be Unsuitable for Children

A new article published this week in The Lancet suggests that most SSRI antidepressant medications may cause problems when taken by children. The new study looked at both published and unpublished studies, while most previous articles looked at only published studies. Only one SSRI, fluoxitine (Prozac) was not associated with problems when taken by children.
