Lexapro Approved for Generalized Anxiety Disorder

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration has approved the antidepressant Lexapro for the treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Lexapro is unique among antidepressants in being the active isomer of another antidepressant, Celexa. This may mean that it is effective at lower doses with fewer side effects.
