Eli Lilly announced late last week that it will settle most of the liability clams stemming from its schizophrenia drug Zyprexa. The company will establish a fund of up to $690 million for plaintiffs who agree to settle their claims. Around 8,000 are covered by the settlement. Most of the lawsuits are from before September 2003 when information about the risk of hyperglycemia and diabetes was not adequately displayed.
