SSRIs in Last Trimester May Affect Babies

Babies whose mothers took antidepressants in the last 3 months of their pregnancy have been found to display a "neonatal behavioral syndrome." The FDA and drug companies have agreed to a labeling change for all SRIs - including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) - to warn physicians about this problem.
