Mental Health Courts are Catching On

Special courts that deal with mentally ill offenders are catching on in different parts of the U.S. So far each mental health court or 'diversion program' is operated differently - with participants typically required to meet weekly with a judge or case manager, undergo counseling, participate in drug or alcohol treatment programs as needed and secure safe housing and employment.
