FDA and APA "Generally Agree" with Black Box Recommendations

The full U.S. Food & Drug Administration issued a statment on Thursday supporting putting warning labels on antidepressants. The labels would warn of an increased risk of suicidal behavior in some children and adolescents. The American Psychiatric Association agreed, but warned that that highlighting the small increase in risk might frighten some and could discourage treatment of depressed children and teens who could benefit.
