UK Conservatives want Alternative to Mental Health Bill

Conservatives in the UK are working on an alternative to the controversial Mental Mealth Bill that is currently being debated. The current bill inlcudes language designed to detain mentally ill people thought likely to commit crime in the future.
Mental health professionals, lawyers, charities and patients have criticized the bill; asserting that parts of the draft mental health Bill are designed for public protection rather than patient care, and that the bill will undermine the rights of the mentally ill.
