Post Heart Attack Anxiety Greater in Women

A cross-cultural study has found that women in Australia, England, Japan, South Korea and the United States have more anxiety than men following a heart attack. The difference was enough to see variations between men and women in the medical complications they experienced.
Anxiety is a common reaction to heart attack, and people with higher anxiety levels also have higher levels of complications in the hospital, such as second heart attacks, blood vessel blockages, irregular heartbeat and death. For more information read the Health Behavior News Serice article at:
